Miyazaki Prefecture on Kyushu, the southern island of Japan. Produced from Japanese Black cattle, Miyazaki has become known for its snowflake-like marbling and is recognized for its cherry red color, tender texture and great dense meat taste due to their diet of wheat, rice, corn, and barley. This diet promotes "shimofuri," the highest quality fat marbling.
